The pro staff is friendly - John, JR, and all the rest; the restaurant staff remember you from week to week and know what you like. The course is challenging enough to not make a duffer feel too bad about his game but still encourage improvement. Patrons all treat you like friends. All in all, a very pleasurable experience. I play there every chance I get.

I played this in Feb 2021 and it was in horrible condition. Putting was more like dribbling a basket ball. Fairway grass was of course dormant (bermuda) but in many places it was just soil. Fast forward to May 2021 and it is obvious the crew is working on things. The grass in fairways is starting to come back and the greens are improved but still not very good. With some hot weather and a bit more water/chemicals the greens may come back this year. If the crew continues at their current pace 2022 should see a return to decent conditions with good greens. There are a LOT of bare areas around fairways and greens that need attention. As I am in the area I will continue to come here and play and hopefully see continued improvement. It is a Willard Byrd design and he is in my top 3 favorite designers. Great layout with plenty of challenge for most golfers.
